A wind of change is blowing around Cape Town

The Mother City is welcoming millions of visitors each year, and the figures keep on rising. It was no surprise, then, when Carlson Rezidor and Tsogo Sun decided to widen their offer with the opening of new hotel complexes.

Radisson Red, the new upscale lifestyle select branch of Carlson Rezidor, will open in late 2016 at the V& A Waterfront.  The announcement of the opening of the first Radisson Red in EMEA has been widely welcome by major players. Responding to a demand from young and lively workers for dynamic and trendy hotels, this new hotel will feature 235 guest rooms, 5 meeting/event studios, a fitness centre and a rooftop swimming pool with a garden terrace and bar. Located in the V&A waterfront, just walking distance to the city convention center, this hotel will be ideal for business travellers looking for a dynamic place to stay.

XO Zoom: Carlson said that the Radisson Red “seeks to create a new industry category” called “Lifestyle Select,” which will focus on integrating technology. For example, a mobile application will allow guests to skip reception for checking in and also allow them to order food and drinks, taxis and more. Carlson described the brand as “an upscale, select-service concept.”

TSOGO Sun Hotel Complex – Opening in September 2017

Tsogo Sun is beating on Cape Town development and rejuvenation and announced last month the construction of a new hotel complex in the centre of the Mother City. The rising demand from business and leisure travellers has lead to the decision to create a 500-room hotel complex with a 200-bedroom state-of-the-art Sun Square hotel and a 300-bedroom new generation Stay Easy hotel.

In the heart of the CBD, the hotel complex will include banqueting and conference facilities for business travellers, and special event hosting. Completing its offer in the Mother City, this ideally located hotel complex will offer stylish, modern and affordable accommodation in the aspect of the Sun Square hotel as well as a stress-free, comfortable and homey travel experience with the StayEasy hotel.

TulipMain-688x400XO Zoom:  “Our city is re-inventing itself. The R650m invested by Tsogo sun for this new complex, is a huge confidence booster for the central city and for tourism investment in the region,” said Wesgro* CEO Tim Harris.
