As the tradition goes, every year L’Oréal sponsors the Consumer Goods Forum Gala Dinner, which happens somewhere exciting in the world. 2016 marked the 60th edition of the glamorous event and was hosted nowhere else but our gorgeous Mother City!
XOEvents assisted them in the design and the co-ordination of an evening of pure magic filled with African refinement and world-class entertainment; and the result was astonishingly satisfying. Obviously, an event of the sort requires an incredible amount of organisation, planning and attention to detail and the numbers are here to prove it. The dazzling African-chic gala counted 630 guests, 450 working on the night but also 9 months of conception and 17 days of construction was needed to make this one-of-a-kind event happened, and we made sure everything was perfect to the last little detail. It’s pretty hard to stay sited at the diner table when you have Lira and Johnny Clegg giving an incredible performance in the intimate setting of the Vergelegen Estate. The Soil, Soweto Gospel Choir and Africa Umoja were also part of the tailor-made show celebrating our gorgeous Africa.
We overheard Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman and CEO of L’Oréal approving of the setting when he said “Whoa, whoa, whoa” while entering the diner area which obviously made up happy and relieved after almost a year of preparations. We wish we could go back to this evening and stay there forever! Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, but luckily we have this video to remember it:
